Sweet and Sour: Chicken and Pork

Sweet and Sour dish, the best partner for steamed rice. This dish is made from pineapple juice, sugar and vinegar that gives life to a dish. Together with vegetables that gives satisfaction and extra flavor to the dish. It takes time to prepare this but it will be a blast dish for everyone.

Ingredients:
·         2 boneless chicken breast, sliced into strips
·         1 lb pork loin, cubed
·         2 cups cooking oil
·         ½  tsp cornstarch
·         ½ cup flour
·         1 cup pineapple chunks (drained)
·         ½  cup reserved pineapple juice
·         3 tbsp brown sugar
·         3 tbsp vinegar
·         2 tbsp. soy sauce
·         1/2 cup water
·         1 medium sized onion (chopped)
·         1 piece raw egg, beaten
·         1 green bell pepper (chopped)
·         1 red bell pepper (chopped)
·         Salt and Pepper
·         1 small size carrots (sliced diagonally)
·         1 tbsp spring onion (strips cut)

Cooking Procedure  

 

Place the pork loin and chicken in a bowl then combine the soy sauce. Marinade for 30 minutes. 

In a large non-stick skillet, heat oil over medium high heat. 

Combine the flour and cornstarch in a bowl then mix until the ingredients are evenly distributed 

Dip the marinated pork in beaten egg then on the flour. 

Deep fry the pork (coated) for 10 minutes or until the color turns brown. Set aside. 

Heat a separate pan pour in the pineapple juice, vinegar. 

 Add sugar and cornstarch stir. Add water then let boil. 

Add the carrots and simmer for 3 minutes. 

Put-in the onions and bell pepper (green and red) and simmer for 4 minutes (add extra water if needed). 

Add the deep-fried pork loin and chicken and stir. Cook for 2 minutes. 

Transfer to a serving dish. 

 

 

Serve and Enjoy.
