Onion Rings

Onion Rings
It is one of the delicious side dishes or appetizer for Filipino. Mostly served during dinner time, and also “bonding time" together with your friends. Another kind of onion recipe, dip in a delicious mayo dip and it can be a good replacement for French fries.


Ingredients:
2 pcs. Large White Onions (sliced ¾ inch thick rings)
1 cup flour
1 pc. Egg, beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 tbsp. ground black pepper
3 cups cooking oil

Dip:
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp. honey
2 tbsp. mustard
1 tsp. garlic (minced)
Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Procedures:
DIP Onion Slices separately in a flour, then in egg, and lastly, coat with breadcrumbs. (Set aside, then repeat it to other rings)
In a large deep skillet heat oil then DEEP-FRY breaded Onions (Until brown and crisp)
Drain then set aside.

For the Dip: COMBINE mayonnaise, garlic and other dip ingredients, mix until smooth.
On a large plate arrange the fried onion rings together with the dip. Then Serve.

Pancit Canton


Is one of the delicious Filipino noodle dishes, simply called “Pancit”.  Often served during birthday celebrations or in any special occasion for noodles symbolizes long-life. It is simply delicious and extremely flavorful one. Taste of noodles and other fresh ingredients that make this dish more attractive.


Ingredients:
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 Medium sized onion (chopped)
3 cloves garlic (crushed)
1 lb. Pork shoulder (sliced thinly)
½ kg. Chicken breast (deboned and sliced thinly)
½ lb. shrimp, peeled
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup cabbage (shredded)
1 cup snow peas
2 medium sized carrots (julienned)
½ cup dried black mushrooms
3 tbsp. spring onions (chopped)
1 pack Pancit noodles (Chinese wheat noodles)
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp. Soy sauce
2 pcs. Calamansi (cut into wedges)

Cooking Procedure:
Soak mushrooms in warm water, and then cut into strips. (Discarding the tough stems, set aside)
In a large wok, heat oil over medium heat, then sauté garlic and onion until tender.
Add: Pork, chicken and shrimp. (Until golden brown)
Add: soy sauce chicken broth then stir. And bring to a boil.
Put carrots and mushrooms. Cook until vegetables are tender. (3-5 minutes)
Add: Snow peas, cabbage and noodles.  (Mix gently to prevent from breaking)
Cook until the liquid is absorbed and noodles are done (8 minutes)
Then remove from heat. Sprinkle with black pepper and spring onions. And transfer on a large serving plate.
Garnish with Calamansi wedges.

Sinigang na Hipon

Sinigang na Hipon is a sour tamarind soup made with shrimps, string beans, long green chili peppers and radishes, and seasoned with soy sauce. This is one of the famous Filipino seafood recipe is a good alternative recipe for meat dishes. It was extremely delicious and sour one; it is best serve during rainy season or Lenten season.



Ingredients
½ kilo shrimp (with head)
1 bunch water spinach (cut in 3 inch length)
1 cup string beans (cut in 2 inch length)
2 pcs. Medium-sized tomatoes (quartered)
1 large white onion (quartered)
8 cups water
1 pack sinigang mix (tamarind)
3 green chilis (siling pahaba)
1 medium sized radish (peeled and sliced diagonally)
1 medium sized eggplant (sliced diagonally)
3 tbsp.  Soy sauce

Cooking Procedure
In a large cooking pot, pour in water and bring to a boil.
Add onions and tomatoes and cook until texture becomes soft
Put-in the sinigang mix and simmer for 2 minutes
Add the string beans, chilis, eggplant, radish and simmer for 3 minutes.
Add the shrimps and soy sauce then simmer for 5 minutes
Add the water spinach, turn the heat off, and cover the pot. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Transfer to a large bowl and serve.

Spicy Breaded Pork Chop

Spicy Breaded Pork Chop
Is another kind of pork chop recipe, blend with spices and amazing crackling mixtures of bread crumbs. Simple kind of pork chop recipe but it have an amazing taste, juicy, crispy and visual appealing to the eye and most especially to the kids. They will surely love this.

Ingredients:
2 lbs. pork chops
1 ½ tbsp. table salt
¾ cup bread crumbs
½ cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1 piece raw eggs
½ tsp. ground black pepper
½ tsp. chili powder (chili flakes)
1 tsp. beef seasoning powder  
1 ½ cups cooking oil

Cooking Procedure
Clean the pork chops and pat dry using paper towels.
Rub seasoned salt around each chop and place inside the fridge (3 hours)
Beat the egg and whisk-in salt and pepper. Set Aside.
Combine the bread crumbs, flour, and beef seasoning powder, chili flakes, in a small freezer (mix well). Set Aside.
Heat frying pan and pour-in cooking oil.
Dip each chop in the egg mixture then dredge in flour mixture.
When the oil is hot, fry the pork chops in medium heat. Cook each side until the color turns golden brown.
Turn off the heat and transfer the cooked pork chops in a plate with paper towel.
Serve with steamed rice.
