Tinolang Manok is an authentic Filipino dish. A traditional Filipino
dish, best served with green papayas and hot pepper leaves. For a better taste,
try cooking it using low heat to bring out the natural flavor. This dish is
best served when it’s rainy season or even if for breakfast, lunch or dinner
you’ll surely enjoy it.
Ingredients
1 whole chicken (cut into serving pieces, cleaned)
1 small sized green papaya (peeled, cleaned) (cut into wedges)
1 tbsp. garlic (minced)
6 cups of water
1 medium sized onion (chopped)
1 small sized ginger (peeled, cleaned) (strip cuts)
2 pcs. Green chilis (Siling Pahaba)
2 tbsp. soy sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste
Hot pepper leaves
Cooking Procedure:
Heat the cooking oil in a cooking pot.
Saute the garlic, onion and ginger.
Add: Chicken and cook for up to 5 minutes or until color turns brown.
Add: Soy sauce and mix well.
Pour in the water and put to a boil. Simmer for 40 minutes.
Add: Papaya and green chilis. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add: Hot pepper leaves.
Transfer to a serving bowl.
Serve and Enjoy.
